Volunteering Information
Woodlands Elementary School loves their volunteers! PTA offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities, and we encourage you to choose at least one activity in which to participate. PTA volunteer opportunities exist with: the Back to School BBQ, Fundraisers, Spaghetti Feed, Vision/Hearing Screening, Picture Day, Reflections Program, Labels for Education, Ice Cream and Popcorn Fridays, Science Fair, Family Movie Nights, Staff Appreciation and Hospitality, Spring Carnival, and much much more! Your participation enhances the education of our students incredibly. We appreciate any time you can offer.
Washington State PTA celebrates volunteers every year through the Golden Acorns Award program. The Golden Acorn Award is presented by local PTA units to volunteers in recognition of their dedication and service to children and youth. A contribution in the name of the recipient is made to the Washington State PTA Financial Grant Program. The recipient receives a certificate and a pin as a token of our appreciation at the annual Golden Acorn Awards reception.
Central Kitsap School District requires everyone who wishes to volunteer to be screened through the State Patrol computers. We are determined to have the safest environment possible for your children. If you plan on volunteering at Woodlands, please fill out the 3 necessary forms and return them to the Woodlands Elementary Office. Please be sure to also include a photocopy of your Driver's License or Military ID with your application. Once the application and documentation has been received and approved, you will be able to volunteer at Woodlands Elementary for 2 years without having to undergo the review process again.
Volunteers are an asset to our students and we appreciate all the time and commitment our volunteers spend at Woodlands Elementary.
